About US ⇒
The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda IRA was established under
section 14 of the Insurance Statute 1996 now The Insurance Act, Chap213 Laws
of Uganda, 2000 Insurance Act which came into effect on 4th April 1996 and
commenced operations in April 1997. The establishment of the Insurance
Regulatory Authority of Uganda was a consequence of Government’s adoption of
the liberalization and privatization policies which ended its role of directly
engaging in the provision of goods and services and taking on the role of
supervisor or regulator.
Job Summary ⇒ The Executive Secretary will provide administrative and
secretarial support to the CEO's office in line with the CEO's directive,
IRA's policies and best practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Review all documents forwarded for CEO's signature/approval to ensure
correctness and accuracy
⇗ Keep track of the implementation of Board resolutions and update the CEO
accordingly
⇗ Develop and Monitor the performance of the budget for CEO's Office
⇗ Manage contracts and Projects under CEO's Office
⇗ Coordinate leave plans for CEO's direct reports
⇗ Prepare, review and follow up CEO's internal correspondences and directives
and ensure bring ups are adequately addressed.
⇗ Receive and direct Executive calls and inbox Management
⇗ Perform internal Public Relations role for CEO's Office
⇗ Maintain an efficient and effective record management system for CEO's
office.
⇗ Monitor the implementation of the Authority's Operational plan and advise
the CEO accordingly.
⇗ Maintain security, safety and confidentiality of documents in CEO's Office.
⇗ Coordinate the smooth running of CEO's Office including its general welfare
⇗ Carry out any other duty as may be assigned by the CEO from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The applicant for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda IRA
Executive Secretary job placement must hold a Bachelor's Honors degree in
Secretarial studies, Business Administration or in any relevant/related field.
⇗ Three years of dedicated service as a Personal Assistant or Executive
Secretary reporting to the Managing Director/Executive Director/Chief
Executive Officer will be an added advantage.
