Job Summary ⇒ The overall purpose of the job is to manage the assigned
vehicle and ensure that all Saferworld Uganda and Global fleet policies are
adhered to.

Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Drive and Maintain assigned project vehicle in accordance with Saferworld
Vehicle Policy and traffic laws of Uganda;
⇗ Ensure that the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in a good mechanical
condition;
⇗ Undertake daily vehicle check-up, and report any problem to the Finance and
Administration Officer;
⇗ Prepare maintenance and spare part requests, keep records of fuel for
submission to the Finance and Administration Officer.
⇗ Ensure strict adherence to safety and security rules - i.e. appropriate use
of vehicles by all staff with regard to seatbelts, speed limits, vehicle
booking process and movement monitoring system;
⇗ Assist in purchases, deliveries and other program activities
⇗ Maintain vehicle mileage log sheet/book daily by noting date, destination,
departure and arrival times, and submit to the Finance and Administration
Officer.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ Secondary level education with a good understanding of English and a
minimum of five years of relevant work experience in an international non-
governmental organisation;
⇗ Valid driving license with B, DL classes
⇗ At least five years of clean driving experience
⇗ Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and a certificate in mechanics and
defensive driving is a plus.;
⇗ Fluency in English written and spoken;
⇗ Respect for people's cultures, and diversity;
⇗ Commitment to working in a non-partisan manner.
⇗ Experience in driving long distances and on difficult terrain
⇗ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
⇗ Ability to work constructively in team environment
⇗ Ability to travel regularly on field trips
⇗ Ability to manage to perform simple mechanics
⇗ Commitment to and compliance with Saferworld's safeguarding principles
⇗ Commitment to respect and value equality and diversity, and understanding
of how this applies to own area of work
⇗ Commitment to own continuing personal and professional development
