Job Summary ⇒ The Trade and Shops Executive will mainly deliver the Annual
Operating Plan AoP by implementing and executing country trade marketing
strategy to drive effective brand communication at the point of sale in the
key retail trade channels as well as company owned shops in accordance with
overall Airtel Africa approved corporate identity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Coordinating with all section heads to ensure consistent implementation of
all brand/product awareness activities in relation to communication in the
trade.
⇗ Achieve highest standards of brand Recall through TOMA Top of Mind
Awareness & Bonding Targets.
⇗ Use of trade insights to drive strategic visibility initiatives.
⇗ Implement, monitor and ensure seamless execution according to the
recommended trade visibility strategy.
⇗ Innovate and propose new ways of attaining the highest brand recall
possible for the Airtel brand at the Point of Sale PoS benchmarked to
industry standards.
⇗ Ensure timely and right execution of all brand and product campaigns in the
trade.
⇗ Keep up to date all trade communication to ensure alignment to
planned/approved communication.
⇗ Ensure implementation of brand guidelines and superior look & feel.
⇗ Creation of awareness for key campaigns and promotions in the trade.
⇗ Innovatively defining type of collateral to be used in trade.
⇗ Placement of material through agencies or sales team and removal of
materials for expired campaigns.
⇗ Where necessary, liaise with the Retail Manager and legal office to sign
tripartite agreements and safely keep all records pertaining to shops/outlets.
⇗ Timely sourcing of quality brand collateral.
⇗ Ensure monthly reporting on Key Trade visibility initiatives versus budget
allocation and spend.
⇗ Recommend innovative and cost efficient budget management approaches.
⇗ Track retail vendor SLAs and ensure adherence within timelines.
⇗ Effective management of the Trade Marketing/ Branding Team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The ideal candidate for the Airtel Trade and Shops Executive job
opportunity should hold a Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
⇗ Professional Qualifications in advertising. Marketing & Communication will
be an added advantage.
⇗ Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing position, with a focus on
trade visibility.
⇗ Experience of Telecommunications Industry or FMCG marketing environment is
an added advantage.
⇗ Able to operate in a performance driven organization.
⇗ Understanding of Research marketing and Analysis.
⇗ Influential & Interpersonal Skills and Social Perspectives.
⇗ Strong communication - oral and writing skills.
⇗ Project/ Time Management.
⇗ Business Awareness.
