About US ⇒
The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda IRA was established under
section 14 of the Insurance Statute 1996 now The Insurance Act, Chap213 Laws
of Uganda, 2000 Insurance Act which came into effect on 4th April 1996 and
commenced operations in April 1997. The establishment of the Insurance
Regulatory Authority of Uganda was a consequence of Government’s adoption of
the liberalization and privatization policies which ended its role of directly
engaging in the provision of goods and services and taking on the role of
supervisor or regulator.
Job Summary ⇒ The Market Development Officer will provide support for the
market development function of the Authority, design and develop market
development proposals, preparation of reports, and support the Monitoring and
evaluation of market development activities in accordance with approved
programs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ⇒
⇗ Design market development proposals/initiatives, and programs.
⇗ Provide support to the Public Education activities including presentations,
workshops and displays in accordance with IRA standards and procedures.
⇗ Initiate the development of public education materials and update existing
ones.
⇗ Liaise with the research team to benchmark with other insurance regulators
in other market jurisdictions.
⇗ Prepare and submit relevant reports on program activities.
⇗ Carry out any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience ⇒
⇗ The applicant for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda IRA Market
Development Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Project
Planning and Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Development
studies, Economics, or any equivalent qualification from the recognized higher
institution of learning.
