Key Duties and Responsibilities  
Prepare accurate and timely local regulatory reports to Bank of Uganda and Uganda Revenue Authority
Responsible for corporate reporting in liaison with COE Manila to ensure correct reporting requirements. This includes preparation and submission of Condi, GARS, Qmemo, TMemo, Cashflow and CER.
Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
Responsible for quarterly tax forecast, Annual Fincon package, Annual Tax and Fixed assets packages.
Liaison with external auditors and Bank of Uganda Inspectors.
Tracking of corrective actions for MCA process and external audits.
Involvement with major issues in the various businesses in the country that could give rise to regulatory concerns or franchise risks
Prepare Tax returns and ensure timely filing with the Uganda Revenue Authority
Manage the Balance Sheet proofing process
Act as back up to the CFO
 
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Planning
US regulatory reporting
Local Statutory Reporting
Business Monitoring
Preparation of annual budgets/Forecasts
Market Risk reporting
Expense monitoring
Establishment of key controls for all Processes
Implementation of new systems
FDICIA and QSA process
Respond to Senior Management requests for information
General duties as may be assigned by CFO on a day to day basis
Regional Management Reporting and Analysis
Support business units on day to day basis on a variety of issues
Quarterly tax plan


Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The applicant must hold a first degree preferably in a business related field An MBA would be of added advantage
Must be a qualified Accountant
At least five years of accounting experience preferably in a reputable financial Institution and/or Accounting Firm.
Strong analytical skills
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Deep working knowledge of IFRS
Awareness of the Tax Act, Companies Act, BOU prudential guidelines and FI Act 2004
Strong proficiency in excel
