Job Summary

The purpose of the Treasury Middle Office Analyst role is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting related to trading activities while effectively managing liquidity and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

This position serves as a critical link between the front office and back office, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration to optimize operational efficiency, risk management, and regulatory adherence. By integrating product control and treasury functions, the role aims to enhance the bank’s financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and uphold the highest standards of financial integrity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the ALM manager in oversight of the Middle Office operations.
  • Maintain up to date policies and procedures and internal control mechanisms to ensure compliance with both internal and regulatory limits.
  • Build infrastructure, internal controls for the Bank Treasury and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, dealing mandates, regulatory requirements to avoid penalties and any reputational issues.
  • Prepare financial reports from the Treasury system and core banking systems to enable decision making and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • P&L Reporting: Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly profit and loss (P&L) reports for various trading desks. Ensure accuracy and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Review reports from Treasury, Finance and Risk departments and spearhead monthly reconciliation engagements with Unit Heads.
  • Prepare Central Bank reports relating to liquidity, maturity profiling and daily FX positions.
  • Collaborate with MIS in driving Revenue assurance to minimize income leakages.
  • Validate the pricing and valuation of financial products, ensuring methodologies align with market standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Assets & Liabilities Manager as an audit contact point for the Treasury department.
  • Support project implementation for both Treasury and Finance process improvements.
  • Liaise with Treasury Front and Back Offices traders, Risk, and Finance teams to communicate P&L results, address queries, and provide insights into trading performance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Professional qualification e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA or ACI is an added advantage.
  • 2-3 years of experience in product control, treasury operations, or related roles within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, analytical tools, and trading systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
