Job Summary

The Research Associate II, Manufacturing Systems Engineering is a foundational technical role within the Product Development team. This position is designed for a highly motivated Associate to contribute to the design, optimization, and management of vehicle production processes on the shop floor. The role is pivotal in supporting key quality and compliance frameworks, such as PPAP and APQP, and ensuring that engineering designs are translated into efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes. The Research Associate II will gain invaluable hands-on experience in homologation and vehicle type approval, contributing to our efforts to industrialize at scale and adhere to both national and international standards. This position requires a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and a passion for manufacturing innovation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Process Design & Quality Compliance: Support the design of tooling and production processes, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) & PPAP: Assist in executing APQP and PPAP processes for supplier approval.
  • Type Approvals & Homologation: Prepare technical documentation for vehicle type approval with regulatory bodies.
  • Manufacturing Systems Optimization: Apply lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Collaborate with teams, uphold safety protocols, and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Exhibit diligence, adaptability, and passion for innovation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering (graduated not earlier than April 2023).
  • Prior internship/academic project experience in automotive manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, AI/ML applications, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and digital proficiency (CAD/CAE software).
